It sure was busy last week. I didn't even post anything about what we did for school.
Yes, we did have school last week. We read this wonderful book Miss Rumphius!
Seeking adventure in faraway places, Miss Rumphius fulfills her dream and then sets out to make the world more beautiful.
Geography: Maine, town by the sea (tropical island, dessert, snow covered mountains)
Language Arts/Art: how to make the world more beautiful
Science: How do seeds travel, Seed Book
This week and part of next week we'll be reading a number of books that have to do with Spring and Easter. We'll be looking at why Christians celebrate Easter they way they do and the other Easter celebration that includes Easter eggs, bunnies and chocolate!!
Here are the books we'll be reading:
The Story of Easter: Book describes Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, then moves on to explain the origins of other springtime rituals and their connection to the biblical traditions.
The Legend Of The Three Trees: The story beings with three young trees who dream of doing big deeds. When the woodcutters come, the trees each find that the reality of their existence doesn't match their dreams…
It's Spring: The excitement of spring is in the air as a boy explores the world around him.
We'll be doing a spring and Easter lapbook as well as other Easter activities. I'm hoping to be done by Tuesday of next week. Then we can have the rest of Holy week off!
I'm not sure how much time I'll have to post during the week or even next week. So let me just wish you a happy Easter now!
